Trials registration now open

The Great Britain Tag Rugby teams are set to continue their push to the top of international Tag Rugby and are seeking players who are interested in taking their playing journey to the next level.

The journey to the 2026 World Cup is well underway with registration for trials open ahead of the British & Irish Cup this summer.

There will be two trials being held to assess talent:

  • Northern Trial - Saturday 7th March

West Park Leeds RUFC, The Sycamores, Bramhope, Leeds LS16 9JR
> Time 10:30 - 15:00

  • Southern Trial - Sunday 8th March

Wasps FC, Twyford Avenue Sports Ground, Twyford Avenue, Acton, W3 9QA
> Time 12:30 - 17:00

These trials are the primary selection events for 2026 squads.

They are open to all eligible age categories.

Note: The minimum age is 17 as of 15 October 2026 (please check selection and eligibility policies for exact wording)

ALL PLAYERS are expected to attend one of the trial dates, regardless of previous GB experience.

If you are a 2025 GB player unable to make any of the trial dates please complete an exemption form. It will be made available by emailing greggcropper@greatbritaintagrugby.com

All players registering for trials must read the player brief and GBTR Programme Delivery FAQs before completing your trial registration.

This is to ensure that you complete your preferences correctly according to the selection model and to be aware of the dates, expectations, costs and code of conduct associated with Great Britain Tag Rugby representation in 2026.
