GREAT BRITAIN TAG RUGBY LAUNCHES PERFORMANCE ADVISORY GROUP

Great Britain Tag Rugby (GBTR) is establishing a Performance Advisory Group (PAG) to support the continued development of its high-performance programme.

The group will provide expert advice, constructive challenge and strategic input, to ensure the GB Tag Rugby Programme continues to achieve high standards across all areas of performance, culture, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Programme Director on performance-related matters across players, coaches, referees, support staff, and pathway development.

• Share knowledge, expertise, and networks to strengthen the programme.

• Review and provide input on:
  ○ Trials and selection policies
  ○ Coach/manager appointments
  ○ Training camp and tournament planning
  ○ Player welfare and development pathways
  ○ Cultural development, inclusivity, and volunteer engagement

• Act as a sounding board for key decisions, offering constructive challenge.

• Support the Programme Director with long-term strategy, succession planning, and risk management.

• Champion GB Tag Rugby values and uphold high standards of integrity, accountability, and inclusivity.

Person specification

• Experience in high performance sport (management, coaching, playing, refereeing, sport science, management, or governance).

• Understanding of athlete development and performance environments.

• Upholds high standards of governance and compliance.

• Ability to think strategically and contribute constructively.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Commitment to GB Tag Rugby’s core values: infectious passion, people matter, work hard to create fun, accountability, and can-do attitude.

Time commitment

• 4-6 meetings per year (virtual or in-person).

• Occasional ad-hoc input via email/phone.

• Voluntary role (expenses reimbursed where appropriate).
